Beautiful, Customizable, and Built for Better Delivery

We're excited to announce a complete redesign of how Fotaflo sends emails to your guests. We've rebuilt our email design and delivery from the ground up to give you more control over your guest communications while improving deliverability so your emails actually reach your customers' inboxes.

Flexible Content

The new email templates, like our recently updated guest album experience, automatically detect and apply your brand color to generate a cohesive email theme.

The new template editor puts you in control with simple toggles for optional email sections:

Logo Automatically displays if you've uploaded a logo in your settings
Guide Profile Show your guide's photo and personal message to add a personal touch
Custom Text Add a personalized message to your guests
Secondary Button Include an additional call-to-action (e.g., "Book Again", "Leave a Review")

 

The core elements—your logo, album cover photo, the "View Photos" button, and the footer—are always included to ensure every email drives guests back to their photos.


Built-In Multi-Language Support

Operating in multiple languages? Each template now supports translations for all text content. Your subject lines, preheader text, custom messages, and call-to-action buttons can all be translated for your different language audiences, no need to create separate templates.

If your guests select a language when they view their memories, future emails and SMS messages will be sent in that language!

We currently include support for English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Italian.

Better Deliverability

Modern Templates

Until now, our guest notification emails used external email templates managed by our email provider. This limited our ability to easily customize emails and made it harder for us to ensure consistent deliverability across all our customers.

Our new template design follows all the current recommended practices to ensure it displays beautifully in all clients. Improvements to the template design, under-the-hood, increase deliverability from our previous design.

Native Tracking

Here's another change you won't see, but you'll definitely feel: we've moved email tracking in-house.

Previously, we relied on our email provider to track opens and clicks, which meant your emails contained their tracking URLs. This can sometimes trigger spam filters because these third-party URLs are recognized across thousands of companies.

Now, we handle all tracking ourselves:

  • Clean URLs — Your album links go directly to your portal (no redirects through third-party tracking domains)
  • Open tracking — We use a tiny tracking pixel hosted on your own Fotaflo subdomain
  • Click tracking — When guests visit their album, we record the engagement
  • Unsubscribe tracking — All unsubscribes are recorded and honored automatically

The result? Better inbox placement and a more professional experience for your guests.

Managing deliverability is a constant process and we have more upcoming changes to help improve it.


Compliant Unsubscribe Handling

Email compliance isn't optional—it's essential. Our new system includes:

  • One-click unsubscribe — Major email providers like Gmail can now show an "Unsubscribe" button right in the email header
  • Branded unsubscribe pages — Guests see your branding when they unsubscribe, not a generic third-party page

Delivery Window Preferences

New email delivery settings let you control when guest communication happens:

  • No restrictions — Send as soon as photos are ready
  • Business hours — Send during default 9 AM – 6 PM in your timezone
  • Custom window — Set your own preferred delivery hours

This helps ensure your emails and text messages arrive when guests are most likely to engage with them.

Centralized Social & Review Settings

Configure your social media links and review platforms once, and they're available everywhere:

  • Album design content blocks
  • Email templates
  • No more entering the same URLs in multiple places

Just visit Settings → Social & Reviews to add your Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X profiles—plus your Google, TripAdvisor, and Yelp review pages.
